Battery

Battery is one of the components in most electronic devices nowadays. It is designed to keep a device working if there isn’t a possibility to get power from electric supply network by a power cord at the moment. The fact that our laptops have batteries saves our nerve cells and time, because if the electricity goes out unexpectedly, they will let us continue working and saving the document or whatever.

Batteries can be of several types: LI-ION (Lithium Ion), Li-polymer (Lithium Polymer), NICAD (Nickel-Cadmium), NIMH (Nickel-Metal Hydride).

Like any product, a notebook battery has its expiry date. Yet, a user can prolong its productivity if he/she keeps to common recommendations of its proper maintaining. Download drivers for battery to be aware of its current state.

The main rules that every laptop user should know and adhere to are:

  • Let your battery discharge almost fully before recharging it.
  • Don’t keep your laptop plugged into a socket all the time, because it doesn’t stop charging even when it is turned off. In general, batteries cannot overcharge, except the situations when it is something wrong with it. Then, it can easily burn off.
  • Don’t keep a laptop battery in too hot or cold environment.
  • If a battery gets too hot, stop using a laptop at once and consult a specialist.

Due to them, you will get all information about your laptop’s battery state and be able to control the processes which are the most energy-consuming. Thus, you will save it from untimely wearing out.
