Samsung has enlarged its inventory of single-chip mobile systems with an innovative Exynos 7 Octa solution. According to the manufacturer, this model is able to demonstrate 57% increase in efficiency, as compared to the previous generation Exynos 5 Octa SoC. The new-comer employs 64-bit ARM Cortex-A50 CPUs with four cores from Cortex A57 and four cores from Cortex-A53. The platform is developed on big.LITTLE HMP architecture (20 nm technological process).
Samsung Exynos 7 Octa is distinguished by a powerful graphics subsystem, based on ARM Mali T-760 GPU. The latter ensures 74% increase in graphics performance; that results in superior imaging in resource-intensive applications. It also comprises a range of facilities for image editing, 3D gaming, eye and facial recognition, data storage as well as shaping of augmented reality images.
This single-chip mobile system shows compatibility with WQHD (2560x1440) and WQXGA (2560x1600) displays. Thanks to the implementation of two Image Signal Processors, the user might simultaneously record two Full HD video streams from the main and frontal smartphone cameras. In addition, the model features an innovative multimedia format codec; this codec makes it possible to playback multimedia files from mobiles devices to TVs.
To continue, a new product from Samsung is characterized by low power consumption. Still, this feature does not affect SoC efficiency, adding some zest to the everyday mobile experience. |
