NEC Announces PA322UHD Monitor with OPS Interfaces

NEC Display Solutions of America has expanded its portfolio of MultiSync monitors with a new model, codenamed PA322UHD. It is targeting professional users and videographers, offering the most bright and accurate colors. The availability of Open Pluggable Specification (OPS) slot is considered to be a major attraction of the greenhorn. This slot multiplies the number of input options with the possibility to install SD/HD-SDI/SB-04HC 3G input cards.

NEC MultiSync PA322UHD is based on IPS panel with W-LED backlight. IGZO technology lies in the core of the panel, ensuring prime image quality and lower power consumption. The display offers 3840x2160 native resolution at 16:9 aspect rate and 10-bit color support. It is able to run at various refresh rate modes, starting from 24 Hz and finishing with 120 Hz. Besides, it boasts 350 cd/m2 brightness index, 1000:1 static contrast, 176/176 degrees viewing angles, and 10 ms response time.

The implemented panel is able to cover up to 99.2% of Adobe RGB environment, 136.3% of sRGB environment, and 92.4% of NTSC environment. This model comes with a variety of interfaces, including DisplayPort OPS, DisplayPort, 2x HDMI ports, 2x DVI-D DL or additional two HDMI ports, USB 3.0 hub for five ports. The latter support DisplaySync Pro technology that gives professionals the necessary level of input flexibility with high-resolution keyboards and mice.

According to the claimed specifications, PA322UHD typically consumes 95 W in ON mode, whereas in a power saving mode consumption index does not go beyond 4.6 W. The display is allocated on a multifunction stand that supports landscape and portrait modes. What is more, rotation of display results in automatic rotation of images on the screen. It is also equipped with two speakers that produce professional-class sounding.

Due to advanced settings, this monitor might work in Picture-in-Picture and Picture-by-Picture modes. The first one splits the screen in half, whereas the second one – in quarters; herein, each section guarantees the display of HD images without prejudice to their quality.

Finally, NEC is planning to ship PA322UHD already in December 2014 at a price tag of about $2.299. Its shipping contents will include a power cable, a DisplayPort cable, a mini-DisplayPort to DisplayPort adapter, mounting screws, USB 3.0 to B cable. Optionally, customers will be able to acquire color calibration sensor, SpectraView II color calibration kit, and dedicated calibration software.
