Therewith, a couple of weeks ago the company launched its newest motherboard targeting modding fans and enthusiasts. The Z97S SLI Krait Edition is designed in a black-and white color scheme, accompanied by a convenient ATX layout of high-quality components. As a result, all users might definitely enjoy the privileges of ultra-fast system boot and loading of hard-core applications.
MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition is based on Intel Z97 chipset that supports the installation of overclocking-oriented Socket LGA1150 CPUs: the 4th and the 5th generation of Intel Pentium, Celeron, Core processors. The PCB offers four DIMM slots for DDR3 dual-channel, non-ECC memory (up to 32 GB capacity) with the maximal clock frequency of 3200 OC MHz. Besides, those modules are known to support Intel XMP profiles. Expansion of facilities can be realized by means of various PCI slots: a pair of PCI-e 3.0 x16, three PCI-e 2.0 x1, and a couple of PCI slots.
This mainboard boasts a powerful storage subsystem. It is compiled of six SATA 6 Gb/sec ports (with the possibility to create RAID 0/1/5/10 configurations), one SATA Express port, and a single M.2 port for the connection of ultra-slim, small-sized storage devices. This subsystem demonstrates compatibility with Intel Smart Response, Rapid Start and Smart Connect technologies which facilitate the work with various devices.

The Z97S SLI Krait Edition employs superior-quality Military Class 4 hardware base, boasting ferrite SFC chokes and solid-state Dark Cap capacitors. Overclocking process is facilitated by the support for OC Genie 4 technology, while management of all key parameters is realized through Click BIOS 4 interface. The latter offers Plug & Play options which detect all connected peripherals and adapters automatically, and Desktop Management Interface that records all mainboard specifications. |
