Asus exclusive Republic of Gamers line of products has been replenished with a new PC, entitled GR8. According to the manufacturer, this model is geared particularly for online gaming, offering an entire range of unique facilities. The system is housed into a small-sized 2.5-liter chassis. Its core components are Intel Core i7 CPU and Nvidia GeForce GTX 750Ti graphics card that supports Full HD resolution. They are followed by 16 GB of DDR3 memory and a high-capacity HDD/SSD.
Asus ROG GR8 comes with pre-installed Windows 8.1 platform, a built-in Miracast receiver for streaming HD data wirelessly from PCs or Android smartphones straight to HDTV. Connection to HDTV might be realized also via HDMI or DisplayPort interfaces. The latter option is enabled due to the incorporated dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac adapter.
In order to provide for a lag-free gaming, Asus has introduced GameFirst III technology; it is called to optimize network operation by prioritizing gaming packets and allocating them appropriate bandwidth routes. This technology offers four preset priority modes and Network Monitor tool that facilitates in traffic management. Besides, this PC comes with Steam utility that allows downloading various games within a few seconds.
To continue, in-game audio facilities are relied on SupremeFX technology. It reduces electromagnetic interference by separating analog and digital components and ensures prime-quality sounding thanks to ELNA audio capacitors. With the purpose to enhance users’ audio experience, the company added to its PC a few advanced solutions: Sonic SoundStage, Sonic Studio, Sonic SenseAmp, Sonic Radar II.
Sonic SoundStage lets users select the best settings for each application by means of dedicated software or directly through hardware tools. Sonic Studio allows tuning various settings, including voice clarity, bass boost, equalizer, reverb, and virtual surround. Sonic SenseAmp enables automatic adjustment of a built-in amplifier to match headphones impedance. In the end, Sonic Radar II offers an on-screen overlay of such effects, as footsteps, gunshots, etc.
It can’t be but mentioned that GR8 is delivered with ROG Gladius optical mouse and M801 mechanical keyboard. Both bundled devices provide gamers with a competitive advantage in FPS gaming applications. They give the necessary level of control during long gaming sessions thanks to responsive clicks and keystrokes. |
