Ricoh Company Ltd. is a Japanese-based designer of imaging and electronics devices. It specializes in the development of office equipment as well as consumer digital cameras. Headquartered in Ricoh Building in Chuo, Tokyo, the company has offices in all major regions and operations in many countries with more than 107 thousand employees. With the purpose to make headway in imaging industry, Ricoh has completed a range of successful acquirements throughout its operation. Therefore, in 2004 it bought Hitachi Printing Solutions, Ltd., that gave push to the creation of a new division: Ricoh Printing Systems, Ltd.

A $725 million deal with IBM on the acquirement of its Printing System Division resulted in the appearance of a new subsidiary in 2005 – InfoPrint Solutions Company. Furthermore, in 2008 the company acquired Ikon Office Solutions for $1.6 billion, becoming one of the most influential figures in printing market.

In the end, to commemorate the history of success, in 2005 Ricoh acquired the naming right to the Coventry City Football Club that was later renamed into Ricoh Arena. On the other hand, the imaging lord continued its research and innovation campaign by establishing a California-based research subsidiary that nowadays focuses on cloud, mobile and customer technologies.
